Immigrating to Canada

Canada's national engineering body - Engineers Canada - operates the Engineering International-Education Assessment Program (EIEAP), which assesses the educational qualifications of internationally trained individuals, comparing their education to a Canadian engineering education. The EIEAP is the only assessment service in Canada specializing exclusively in engineering education credentials. It does not evaluate work experience.
The EIEAP assessment is easy to understand and provides useful information for employers, universities and other officials. Applicants also receive practical information about working as an engineer in Canada. For more information on the EIEAP, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions or contact Engineers Canada at evaluation@engineerscanada.ca.
Until March 31, 2003, Engineers Canada partnered with Citizenship
and Immigration Canada (CIC) in assessing the engineering qualifications of people applying for permanent residence in Canada who intended to work as engineers. The purpose of this
assessment was to evaluate the likelihood of acceptance into the examination program by a provincial or territorial engineering association. For more information on Engineers Canada's former Initial Assessment Program, contact Engineers Canada at evaluation@engineerscanada.ca.
