Research Studies

Engineers Canada oversees research activities to monitor the pulse of the engineering profession in Canada. Among its objectives, it coordinates research on the nature of engineering work in Canada, labour market information, as well as publishes the Canadian Engineers for Tomorrow - Engineering Enrolment and Degrees Awarded Report.

The Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB)ΒΈ the Canadian Engineering Qualifications Board (CEQB) and the Board of Directors work closely to ensure that early identification processes are in place for emerging disciplines. These processes involve accreditation team visits, since the teams have regular and direct contact with academia. Information on new or developing areas of engineering by the CEAB is gathered as part of Engineers Canada's work in tracking emerging engineering disciplines. In addition, Engineers Canada staff conduct regular scanning of papers, publications, conferences and research in order to gather information from other sources.
